Expand Your Aura
We had the best time in Phoenix at Exhale Wellness at our Brighten and Expand Your Energetic Field workshop this weekend. The vibes were so strong. Thanks for all who attended, for Exhale + Caitlin for hosting, and for crystal goodies from The Crystal Boutique.
I wish I could download my brain and tell you everything we talked about, but tbh, one of the side effects of having epilepsy is that I have a reallyyyyyy terrible memory. At least that’s what I tell myself. My b.
But! We opened the afternoon with a Kundalini yoga set called Strengthening the Aura. And it was magical.
Full disclosure: I’m not a Kundalini teacher. But I love the practice, and going to class with some really wonderful people over the past year has totally changed my life for the better. I can’t really explain it, but these kriyas and mantras force you to become personally introspective. And from my experience, that transforms your psyche in the best way possible. So get yourself to class, if you can, or check out Ra Ma TV. It’s weird but it’s fun.
Here’s what Yogi Bhajan, the man behind Kundalini, says about why it’s important to keep your aura right and tight:
"If you are human and your presence doesn't work, all the wealth and all the knowledge will not work either. Once you develop a personal discipline, your psyche starts emitting a sense of confidence, trust, and grace, and that creates love. You radiance should be so strong, that even if a hateful person sees you, it should totally neutralize the other person's psyche so that they experience nothing but love and friendship."
-Yogi Bhajan, 11/27/95
He gave this set of movements to strengthen the aura. Do the exercises in order, together. It takes 8 minutes total but goes by so fast. You can do it in silence, use a Kundalini track, or use music that “does not create commotion.” We used these first two songs, and it was vibey as hell.
Here’s how to do it:
